Jennifer has been the leader on the Council's efforts to bring a regional aquatics center to Bellevue, including working with community partners such as Splash Forward, Bellevue College, Bellevue School District and others. The aquatics center will serve the community in many ways including learn-to-swim, rehabilitation services, family recreation, and more while providing both a competition and training venue for swimming, water polo, diving, synchro, and SCUBA. This will be a place where everyone belongs.

With drowning being the leading cause of death among children under 4 and the second leading cause of death among children under 18, we need to teach our children how to swim. This is especially critical as we live in an area with abundant lakes and rivers. The current under-sized Bellevue Aquatics Center has a two-year wait list for swim lessons. We need to do better for the health and safety of our children and our whole community.
